There has been a school
at Coalbournbrook since the early in the 19th century, possibly
built with financial support from the Hills of Dennis Hall
whose philanthropy extended to building schools and churches
across their industrial empires in both South Wales and
the Black Country.
A Victorian school building in School Drive
was demolished in the mid-20th century to make way for a
modern primary school, which is set to continue education
in Coalbournbrook into its second centaury. Meanwhile to
cater for Amblecote’s expanding population other schools
have been built across the area, including Peters Hill Primary
on Amblecote Bank one of the largest primary school in the
country.
